Jaymie, White Otter // Creative Headshots

I was first introduced to Jaymie aka White Otter via my bestie, Erica Lee. I had borrowed/snagged some beautiful florals from her and was all, but who da artist? She showed me White Otter’s page and I was hooked. Fast forward a couple months later and we randomly connected in Canmore for a creative headshot session.

Jaymie was so much fun, and super easy to work with. She kept asking me if she should bring this, or that, or a tanned hide… and I was legit ” Bring. It. All.

Lastly, my cousin lives in Canmore and gave me the sketchiest directions to a lake up the mountain that would be quiet and give us some space to shoot at. Up this dirt road we go, bumping along, and the awkward silence between us as we look at each other, trying to decide if this is our vest idea ever…. then the laughter. The stories. The auntie cackle.

I’m so grateful my work connects me with like-minded artists all across this country, and I’m grateful for the ones who will walk in mountain lakes in the dead of winter for the shoot.

Artists, we get one another.
